Aim

1-Aim, (noun), (goal), hadef (hdaf).


2-Aim, (verb), 1- **Aim (a weapon) at, ṣewweb (ɛla).

2- (have the intention of achieving sth), hdef.

3- (remarks), a- weǧǧeh.

b- To be aimed at (sb), kan mweǧǧeh l-(kac waḥed).


Examples (to aim [have the intention of achieving sth]):

The Milennium Development Goals aim to reduce hunger, poverty and disease. - L-Hdaf taɛ t-Tenmiyya taɛ l-Elfiyya beṛnameǧ yehdef bac ineqqes l-ǧuɛ, l-fuqr u l-merḍ f d-denya.


Examples (to aim [remark]):

My remarks were not aimed at you. - L-mulaḥḍat taweɛ-i maci mweǧǧhin li-k.


Examples (to aim [weapon]):

The old man opened the car window and aimed his gun at the bird. - Fteḥ hadak c-cix t-taqa taɛ l-keṛṛusa taɛ-u u ṣewweb slaḥ-u ɛla hadak ṭ-ṭir.

They aimed their guns at Farid. - Ṣewwbu slaḥ-hum ɛla Farid.

What is he aiming at? - Ɛla wac ṛa-hu iṣewweb?
