Air

Air, (noun), 1- a- hwa.

b- To be still up in the air, mazal ma wǧed-c.

c- To need some air, sḥeqq icemm cwiyya hwa.

2- (general environment), ǧeww.

3- (sky), sma.

4- (aspect, manner of behaving), ṣifa.

Air force, qewwat ǧewwiyya.


Examples:

The air here is clean. - Hna, l-hwa nqiyy.

Water is 800 times heavier than air. - L-ma tqil temnemyat xeṭra ɛel l-hwa.

We cannot live without air and water. - Ma neqqedru-c nɛicu bla l-hwa u l-ma.


Examples (air force):

Farid always wanted to join the air force. - Farid men kan dima ḥayeb igaǧi f l-qewwat l-ǧewwiyya.

I enlisted in the Air Force. - Gaǧit f l-Qewwat l-Ǧewwiyya.

The Air Force trained her to become a pilot. - Kewwnet-ha l-Qewwat l-Ǧewwiyya u wellat qayda taɛ ṭeyyara.
