Ox

Ox, (noun), ferd (frad).


Examples:

An old ox makes straight furrows. - L-ferd l-kbir idir ǧerdan mṣeggmin. ~

From the old ox, the young one learns to plow. - L-ferd ṣ-ṣɣir yerfed l-ḥṛit ɛel l-ferd l-kbir.

The horse doesn't have horns; the ox and the sheep have horns. - L-ɛud ma ɛend-u-c gṛun, beṣṣeḥ l-ferd u l-kebc ɛend-hum.

The plural of ox is oxen. - L-ǧemɛ taɛ "ferd" huwa "frad."

They had lit a fire fit to roast an ox. - Ceɛɛlu naṛ lli tekfi bac yecwiw bi-ha ferd.

Why don't we take a drive round the island on this ox carriage? - Ɛlac ma neḍḍerbu-c duṛa ɛla had l-ǧzira b-had c-cariṭa lli yeǧǧebdu-ha l-frad?
